Washington, D.C. – “With the U.S. economy shedding over half a million jobs in November and in light of the fact that a total of 1.9 million jobs have been lost this year, the immediate passage of a comprehensive stimulus package is no longer just an option but is instead a vitally needed necessity.  In order to provided displaced workers with the assistance they need, Congress must pass a targeted and fiscally responsible package that spurs job growth, extends unemployment benefits, grants tax relief to working Americans and invests in our nation’s aging infrastructure.

“At no point in modern history have working Americans been more vulnerable and susceptible to chronic and sustained financial hardship than they are right now.  With so many hardworking Americans finding themselves in pecuniary peril, it only makes sense that Congress get to work and pass a stimulus package that boost our underperforming economy and help America’s displaced workers find stable employment.”
