Washington, D.C. – “A report released by First American CoreLogic aired more disturbing news that at least 7.5 million Americans owe more on their mortgages than their homes are currently worth.

“It is time to abandon the failed Bush-McCain housing and economic policies of the past 8 years that have pushed millions of American homeowners to the brink of foreclosure and have consistently worked against the middle-class.

“I urgently call on the Bush-McCain allies in Congress to join Democrats in supporting an economic stimulus package that freezes foreclosures and helps homeowners re-finance into more affordable mortgages.”
