Washington, D.C. – Congressman André Carson released the following statement after it was announced that Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones died Wednesday after suffering an aneurysm:

“I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to the family, friends and constituents of Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones.  She was not only one of the most beloved Members of Congress, but she was also a close friend and confidant of the Carson family and we will all miss her terribly. 
 
“Congresswoman Jones will always be remembered for her infectiously pleasant personality and her kind and welcoming demeanor.  The commitment and strong sense of loyalty that she had towards her constituents was endearing to us all. 
 
“My thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, staff and colleagues.”
