Indianapolis, IN- Congressman André Carson will join in honoring his grandmother, former Congresswoman Julia Carson, at a Post Office Dedication Ceremony this Monday, June 16, 2008.  The Ceremony will begin promptly at 10:30 am and will take place at the Mapleton Post Office located at 2650 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street.

 “Her outstanding legacy of service and loyal commitment to those she served is how many of us will remember the Congresswoman,” said Congressman André Carson.  “Because of the graciousness of our community in renaming this building in her honor, future generations will be reminded of all she did for this community, the city of Indianapolis, and of the great state of Indiana.  I know my grandmother would be honored and extremely thankful that the community thought enough of her to name such a magnificent building in her honor.”
