Washington, D.C. – Congressman André Carson today released the following statement regarding the shut down of ATA, an Indianapolis-based airline that employed approximately 2,300 workers nation-wide and 560 in Indianapolis.

“The abrupt and unforeseen shut-down of ATA is a sad and truly unfortunate occurrence. This airline employed many residents from my district and served as an important mode of transportation for individuals traveling to and from the great state of Indiana.

“Over the last several years many of our nation’s air passengers have had to endure many hardships in the form of flight delays, cancellations, and airline shut-downs. I look forward to working with the Congress and the airline industry in unison on concrete solutions that eradicate these problems and strengthen our air transport system.”
