"This weekend Americans will pause to recognize our fellow citizens who devoted their lives to the service of the United States. There is much that is owed to these men and women in uniform who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. President Abraham Lincoln called this sacrifice ‘the last full measure of devotion.'

Their devotion has successfully kept Americans safe and free for more than 230 years. And their service has helped shape the ideals for which our country has always stood-even in the face of great trials and tribulations.

"On this Memorial Day we honor these fallen heroes, as well as their families, who continue to carry the legacy of their loved one with them every day."
