CONGRESSMAN CARSON ANNOUNCES NEW CHIEF OF STAFF

WASHINGTON D.C. - Congressman André Carson today announced a change to his leadership team, naming Kim Rudolph as his new chief of staff. The change will take effect January 3, 2011.

Rudolph, a fourteen-year veteran of Capitol Hill, will oversee the operations of the Congressional offices in Washington, D.C. and Indianapolis.

Rudolph has served 10 years as chief of staff for Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick. Kilpatrick represented Michigan's 13th Congressional District and was chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus for the 110th Congress.

Rudolph also has ties to the Hoosier state as a graduate of North Central High School in Indianapolis and DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind, where she received her undergraduate degree.

"Throughout her professional career Kim has been a proven leader," said Congressman Carson. "Her extensive experience on Capitol Hill and familiarity with Central Indiana makes her a perfect fit to serve in this role."

Rudolph's professional career includes experience in public relations, banking and finance. She started on Capitol Hill as a Senior Legislative Assistant for banking issues. She was elevated to Legislative Director and later became Associate Staff for the House Appropriations Committee.

Rudolph was named Outstanding Chief of Staff for 2010 by the Congressional Tri-Caucus, a coalition comprised of the Congressional Black Caucus, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus. She was also acknowledged for her hard work by the Women's Campaign Forum and was named Federal Legislative Staff Person of the Year by the Michigan Credit Union League.

Along with her degree from DePauw University, Rudolph holds a Master of Business Administration from Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn.
