Congressman Carson Celebrates Meaning of Valentine’s Day by Reintroducing ‘Equality for All’ Resolution
Washington, DC - This Valentine’s Day, Congressman André Carson announced he will be reintroducing his “Equality for All” resolution in Congress. The resolution calls on Congress to pass sensible legislation ensuring that all Americans, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity, are protected from discrimination.
“Reintroducing a resolution that aims to let LGBT members of society live their lives like any other American, free from intolerance because of who they are and who they love, is the perfect way to celebrate Valentine’s Day,” said Congressman André Carson.
Congressman Carson first introduced the ‘Equality for All’ Resolution in 2015, after Indiana enacted the discriminatory Religious Freedom Restoration Act, allowing businesses to refuse service based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The Resolution had 146 co-sponsors in the 114th Congress.
Congressman Carson is a longtime supporter of LGBT rights. He is also a founding member of the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus.
