Representative André Carson recently announced that the IndyGo Red Line funding is set to be approved soon. Rep. Carson received congressional notification that later this month, the Department of Transportation will sign a Small Starts Grant agreement for $75 million, which means the money will be formally allocated.
Recently, President Trump signed into law H.R. 4851, the Kennedy-King Establishment Act of 2018, legislation introduced by Congressman André Carson and co-sponsored by Congresswoman Susan Brooks (R-IN). This legislation officially recognizes MLK Park in Indianapolis where Senator Robert F. Kennedy delivered a timeless speech on the day Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated, and establishes the site as a part of the newly created U.S. Civil Rights Network.
Recently, Congressman André Carson and Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer met with community and business leaders in Indianapolis as part of the 'Make It In America' Listening Tour. The group met to discuss our nation’s infrastructure needs and the work being done in Indianapolis. The 'Make It It America' Listening Tour is making stops across the country so House Democrats can hear from Americans about the economic pressures they face and the challenges that need to be addressed. The information gathered will be used to further shape the ‘Make It In America’ plan in Congress.
