Each spring, a nation-wide high school art competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Congressional Art Competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our congressional district. The winning piece will be displayed in the United States Capitol building along with other artwork from across the country.
Recently, Congressman André Carson and Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer met with community and business leaders in Indianapolis as part of the 'Make It In America' Listening Tour. The group met to discuss our nation’s infrastructure needs and the work being done in Indianapolis. The 'Make It It America' Listening Tour is making stops across the country so House Democrats can hear from Americans about the economic pressures they face and the challenges that need to be addressed. The information gathered will be used to further shape the ‘Make It In America’ plan in Congress.
Congressman André Carson recently announced bipartisan and bicameral efforts to recognize the importance of Kennedy-King Park in Indianapolis ahead of the 50th anniversary of Senator Robert Kennedy’s famous speech. These efforts include legislative and executive actions.
