Congressman Carson Announces Funding Approval for Minton-Capehart Federal Building
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman André Carson, a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee today announced that the Committee approved over $3 million in federal funding to repair the Minton-Capehart Federal Building in Indianapolis.
“I appreciate the Committee making this smart and timely investment of resources that will allow the General Services Administration to restore and maintain this vital federal facility in Indianapolis.” said Congressman Andre Carson.
The $3,157,000 investment will focus on repairs, alterations for structural and related system upgrades of the building’s parking garage. The facility has suffered from degraded concrete that has resulted in chunks of materials falling from the ceiling that has posed safety risks to individuals visiting the Federal Building or property damage to their vehicles.
After today’s Committee authorization for the project, appropriations are expected in FY 2019.
