Rep. Carson to Hold Virtual Opportunities Fair for Young Hoosiers
Indianapolis, IN -- Congressman André Carson (IN-07) will be hosting a virtual Youth Opportunities Fair this Wednesday, April 14th from 4-7 pm ET. The purpose of the event is to help connect young people in the Indianapolis area to a variety of local jobs, volunteer positions, and other enrichment opportunities.
No RSVP is needed to participate. At the time of the event, people can attend by clicking the link to the event on Rep. Carson’s official website, Carson.House.gov.
In previous years, Rep. Carson held this fair in-person at Indianapolis’ Central Library. This year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, he is holding the event on a virtual platform to allow members of the community to participate safely and conveniently. The platform, called Booth Central, allows participants to video chat with exhibitors about the opportunities they have. There will be approximately 50 exhibitors representing local businesses, non-profits, government entities, and more.
“I am honored to once again hold my Youth Opportunities Fair,” Rep. Carson said. “Now more than ever, our kids need and deserve the many resources our community has to offer. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other challenges, young people are experiencing tremendous obstacles at a pivotal point in their lives. Thankfully, there are many life-changing opportunities out there, and I’m honored to help young Hoosiers discover them. So, if you’re a young person, a parent/guardian, or a caregiver, I encourage you to attend my Youth Opportunities Fair next Wednesday."
