Youth Opportunities Fair
As a parent,it can sometimes feel like a challenge to find rewarding, safe activities for our children after school and during the summer months. That's why Congressman Carson has teamed up with local community organizations to make it easier for Indianapolis families to find these types of opportunities.
On Monday, March 12th, Congressman Carson will host his fifth annual Youth Opportunities Fair in cooperation with EmployIndy, JAG Indiana, Marion County Commission on Youth, The Indianapolis Public Library, and Public Allies Indianapolis. It will take place from Noon-7 p.m. at the Central Library, and is free and open to the public (no registration required) to anyone who wants to attend.
The goal of the Youth Opportunities Fair is to present students and parents with a variety of summer options before the end of the school year. In addition to job and internship opportunities for ages 15-21, this event will feature local service providers and other groups that offer after school, summer, and volunteer programs designed for young people of all ages. There will also be learning sessions to help young people with resume and application review as well as interviewing and networking skills.
