This year, over 21 million Americans enrolled in Affordable Care Act coverage, a record high. Thanks to bills I voted for to improve and strengthen the Affordable Care Act, four out of five customers can find insurance plans for $10 or less a month.
And the deadline to get coverage is coming up – apply at healthcare.gov by December 15 to get coverage by January 1, or January 15 to get coverage starting February 1.
Obamacare has brought cost savings for thousands of Americans. It’s simple: free preventative care like yearly checkups, vaccines, contraceptives, and cancer screenings have provided early detection of treatable conditions. They also can prevent illness from occurring in the first place. No one wants to get sick, but if you do, you should be able to get the care you need, at a price you can afford.
President Obama and my colleagues in Congress fought for healthcare fairness because of our conviction that health is not a privilege – it’s a human right.
We have more work to do, but make no mistake – I’ll keep fighting for affordable, accessible healthcare for you and your family.

Congressional App Challenge Winners:
Congratulations to Justin Li and Arnay Garhyan, students at Park Tudor, and winners of the 2024 Congressional App challenge! Their winning app, called “Ready, Set, GO!” seeks to help new athletes and fans to engage in Track and Field events in new and innovative ways. Established by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013, the Congressional App Challenge is a nationwide competition for middle school and high school students designed to expose students to the world of app development without requiring prior coding experience. Each participating congressional district selects a local winner who then competes with winners from other participating districts for further awards.
