How to save on your internet bill.

There’s one issue on nearly every American’s mind: the economy.

It’s not hard to see why. Whether it’s getting a new job or making sure you’re paid fairly for the job you have – combined with the fluctuating costs of groceries, housing, gas, and other bills – the economy impacts every aspect of our day-to-day lives.

I know Americans are feeling the strain. But the good news is that the economy is getting better. Democrats are working hard to provide more financial freedom for working families, and making sure that you can save money on everyday items right now.

Last week, I wrote to you about lowering the cost of insulin to $35/month as well as lowering the cost of other prescription drugs. This week, I want to share an update about how we’re lowering monthly internet costs for millions of Americans.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – which Democrats passed last Congress and I personally championed – is lowering the cost of monthly internet bills for 22.5 million Americans.  That translates into 1 in 7 Hoosiers who receive free or low-cost internet services.

We know that internet isn’t a luxury – it’s a right. Access to strong, reliable internet service is essential for students to complete schoolwork, job seekers to find new opportunities, and for small business owners to grow their business. Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, internet doesn’t have to be a burdensome cost. This program can save you up to $75 a month on your internet bill, plus you can receive a $100 discount to purchase a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet.

Even more Hoosiers might be eligible who haven’t applied. All you have to do is go to www.fcc.gov/acp to find out if you qualify.

The economy improved and 2023 was a record year for job creation with 2.7 million new jobs – bringing the running total to $14 million jobs since President Biden took office. In addition, unemployment has stayed under 4% for 21 months in a row. These are all great signs that point to an even stronger, more resilient economy in 2024, and a sign that President Biden and Democrats’ economic agenda is working.

This agenda is about growing and supporting middle class families – not lining the pockets of the ultra-wealthy. From lowering the cost of your internet and heating bills, healthcare, and more, we’re tackling the real daily challenges that affect you the most.

Honoring Hoosier Women Veterans

Far too often Hoosier women veterans are overlooked, underrepresented, and do not always receive the support and recognition they deserve - even within veteran communities. That’s why I’m honored to start a new initiative recognizing outstanding Hoosier women veterans who have gone above and beyond for our nation and community.

Do you know a Hoosier female veteran who deserves to be recognized? Let me know by filling out this form
