Submit your questions for my virtual town hall.
I want to hear from you. I’m holding a Virtual Town Hall on Thursday, October 3 at 4:30pm to answer your questions and give you an update on what’s happening in Congress.
Last week, I voted for a House funding bill to prevent a government shutdown and begin negotiations on final funding bills for 2025. My priorities remain consistent: fund critical services and programs that middle class Americans depend on, like Medicare, Social Security, and lifesaving food assistance.
I will never stop fighting for you and your family.
We still have so much more to do, but it’s important to look at what has worked:
-We passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, to fix the roads, bridges, and sidewalks we depend on each and every day. Not only is this law pouring unprecedented investments into making our streets smoother and safer – plus it’s also creating thousands of good-paying, union jobs. A win-win.
-We passed the Inflation Reduction Act to lower inflation and lower costs for you and your family. One of the biggest accomplishments is capping the cost of insulin at just $35 a month for those on Medicare – and we’re on our way to capping it for all Americans. That’s saved folks $500, on average.
-And we did it all without raising taxes for the middle class. But we’re making sure the ultra-wealthy have to pay their taxes, like the rest of us. Through new enforcement efforts, the IRS has recovered more than $1 billion from wealthy Americans who haven’t paid their fair share of taxes. It’s only right that millionaires and billionaires are subject to the same rules as the rest of us.
