What's at stake.
Today’s generation of women face fewer rights than their mothers and grandmothers had.
Most Hoosiers and Americans believe in the right to access abortion care. But some lawmakers have ignored the concerns of their constituents and pushed for extreme measures that harm women and families.
Abortion bans put people’s lives at risk. In Texas, the rate of maternal deaths in Texas increased 56% after its statewide abortion bans. In Indiana, Abbey Hall recently shared her story – describing how she had to travel out of state and face harassment to obtain an abortion after learning her fetus had a birth defect that would impair its quality of life.
As your Congressman, I will continue fighting for reproductive rights, including calling for a vote on the Women’s Health Protection Act to restore national abortion rights. I’m proud to cosponsor this important legislation which protects the right to access abortion care across the country and prevent states from enacting restrictive bans.
I’ve also supported the Equal Access to Abortion Coverage in Health Insurance (EACH Act), which ensures federal health programs like Medicaid provide abortion care, giving all women—regardless of income—the right to make their own decisions.
In addition, I’ve joined my colleagues in sending a letter to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), calling for full funding for Title X, the federal program that provides access to contraceptive services, cancer screenings, and family planning services.
People—not politicians—should be making their own healthcare decisions.
Roe v. Wade ensured access to safe, medically supervised abortion services, protecting health and allowing people the right to choose what is best for them.
I’m a proud cosponsor of the Women’s Health Protection Act to guarantee access to abortion care across the country and restore the right to comprehensive reproductive health care for millions of Americans. Protecting reproductive health means ensuring access to cancer screenings, wellness visits, comprehensive family planning, contraception, and fair insurance practices.
I’ll keep fighting for the health and safety of Hoosiers and all Americans.
