Carson Announces Staff Changes

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman André Carson announced the following staff changes in his Congressional office.
 
PRESS:
 
Justin Ohlemiller, Indiana Communications Director and Director of Intergovernmental Affairs – Justin Ohlemiller has been hired to serve as Congressman Carson's primary media contact for Indiana related press inquiries.  Deputy Chief of Staff and Counselor, Micah Ragland, will continue to coordinate Congressman Carson's national media strategy.  In addition to his press responsibilities, Ohlemiller will also serve as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs.  Justin is a native of Muncie, Indiana and prior to joining Congressman Carson's staff he served as chief spokesman and press secretary to former Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson before eventually being promoted to Deputy Chief of Staff.  After his stint with the Peterson Administration, Justin worked as an account manager and communications consultant for Hetrick, an integrated communications marketing firm.  Justin graduated cum laude with a B.S. in telecommunications from Butler University in 2000.           
 
Nathan Bennett, Staff Writer and Legislative Correspondent – Nathan Bennett has added Staff Writer to his portfolio and will continue to serve as Congressman Carson's Legislative Correspondent.  A native of South Bend, Indiana, Nathan served on the staff of Congressman Joe Donnelly prior to joining Congressman Carson's staff.  Nathan graduated with a B.A. in political science from Indiana University in 2006.
 
POLICY:
 
Sara Williams, Legislative Director – Sara Williams has been promoted to Legislative Director after serving as Congressman Carson's Senior Legislative Assistant in the 110th Congress.  Sara served on the policy team of former Congresswoman Julia Carson prior to joining Congressman Carson's staff.  A native of West Lafayette, Indiana, Sara is a graduate of Purdue University.    
 
Erin Rosenberg, Senior Policy Advisor – Erin has moved to the Washington, DC office to serve as Congressman Carson's Senior Policy Advisor.  She joined Congressman Carson's district staff last year as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs.  A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Erin is a graduate of Indiana University.  Prior to working for the Congressman, Erin attended the University of Cincinnati, School of Law and was a fellow at the Urban Morgan Institute of International Human Rights.
