Carson To Host Central Indiana Job Fair With Ivy tech Community College

INDIANAPOLIS - Looking to help hardworking jobseekers connect with employers from across the area, Congressman André Carson today announced that he is hosting a job fair in cooperation with Ivy Tech Community College.

The event will take place Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at IUPUI's Campus Center in downtown Indianapolis.

"The past two years have been tough on Hoosiers and businesses," said Congressman Carson. "While we've seen signs of recovery, high unemployment remains a significant challenge as too many talented and capable men and women find themselves out of work. That's why I'm hosting the Central Indiana Job Fair in cooperation with Ivy Tech. This event will provide an opportunity to speak with a diverse group of companies from various sectors that are looking to hire here in central Indiana."

From service-based jobs to skilled-trades positions to professional, high-wage jobs - this job fair will offer opportunities to learn more about employment across the economic spectrum.

"We are committed to our graduates and the workforce of Indiana to provide opportunities to advance career options," said D. Scott Horvath, Executive Director of Ivy Tech - Central Indiana's Workforce and Economic Development. "Congressman Carson's Job Fair will offer a diverse mix of employers who have partnered with Ivy Tech to reach talented, skilled employees."
