Carson, Ivy Tech Announce Workshops to Prepare Jobseekers for Upcoming Career fair
INDIANAPOLIS - As the August 25th Central Indiana Job Fair approaches, Congressman André Carson today encouraged attendees to get prepared for the event by participating in workshops offered by the staff and faculty at Ivy Tech Community College.
These career-building sessions will be held August 19th - the week before the day-long job fair-in an effort to get jobseekers ready to make their best pitch to prospective employers. Ivy Tech will host three different sessions focused on improving job-hunting skills, covering topics like résumé preparation and job search strategies.
"We want local jobseekers to have all the tools they need to make the most of the job fair," said Congressman Carson. "That's why I've teamed with Ivy Tech to offer these workshop opportunities aimed at helping people be better prepared to compete for jobs in this challenging economy."
Space is limited for the workshops, so those interested in gaining a spot should register soon. Jobseekers can sign up for workshops when they register for the August 25th job fair. They will then have the option to select the workshop sessions they will attend on Aug. 19th. To register for these workshops and the job fair, please call (317) 921-4539 or visit www.ivytech.edu/carsonjobfair.
