Carson Joins New Middle Class Working Group to Announce Agenda to Help Middle-Class Families Get Ahead

Washington, D.C. – Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 17, 2008, Congressman André Carson will join a coalition of House Democrats in announcing the formation of a new Democratic Middle Class Working Group. This new working group will unveil a legislative agenda known as The Middle Class Success Agenda, a collection of legislative proposals designed to address the needs of working American families. The Middle Class Success Agenda includes thirteen pieces of legislation to address rising college costs, health insurance, transportation costs, small business issues, elder care and child care.

Congressman Carson believes that in order to secure our nation's economic productivity, we must first secure our nation's middle-class. The comprehensive legislative portfolio introduced by the Democratic Middle Class Working Group seeks to provide hardworking American families with the resources they need to enhance their financial standing and safeguard their economic interests.
