CARSON STATEMENT ON SHORT-TERM SPENDING BILL

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman André Carson released the following statement today in response to the House vote on the two-week continuing resolution.

______________________________________________________

"The Republicans' previous spending measure randomly made cuts that were irresponsible, deep and unacceptable to the Senate and President. Their unwillingness to make investments in our economy, create jobs and find common ground have forced yet another temporary extension today.

"We need to end this climate of uncertainty that is hampering a stronger economic recovery and approve a spending bill for the remainder of the year. Americans are demanding that our government act responsibly, which means reducing the deficit while ensuring we are not undermining our recovering economy and job creation."
