Washington, D.C. - Congressman André Carson will be cheering on the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV from the White House this Sunday. He will be attending President Obama's Super Bowl viewing party with his wife Mariama.
"Mariama and I were humbled and honored by the President's invitation," Carson said. "It's always a tremendous opportunity to visit the White House and spend time with the President of the United States. And of course, when you throw in being able to cheer on the Colts as they play for another world championship, it will make for a special Super Bowl Sunday."
Carson said he expects to be in the minority rooting for the Colts, so he'll try to hold himself back from doing "too much boasting and bragging" when Indy wins the game and hoists the Lombardi trophy at the end.
Carson understands that many people around the nation-and by early indications, the President-will be cheering for the underdog Saints.
"New Orleans is one of our nation's most unique and beautiful cities, and the Saint's Super Bowl run is a great story. I hope they get a title someday-just not this year and not against my hometown team."
Carson's prediction on the final score: Colts 31 Saints 21.
Go Colts!!
