Congressman André Carson Honors Fallen Officer in the U.S. House of Representatives

WASHINGTON D.C. – Congressman André Carson (IN-07) made a statement for the Congressional Record honoring the life of fallen Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Perry Renn.

The statement will now be held in the permanent Congressional Record in Washington, D.C. A copy of the statement also was delivered to Renn's family.

"Renn's character and selfless commitment to his fellow citizens is evidenced by his years of service to our community," Carson said. "By inserting a statement into the Congressional Record, his memory will be marked not only in Indianapolis' history but our nation's history for all time."

On Friday, Congressman Carson also delivered a speech on the House Floor honoring Renn and calling for an end to the violence in Indianapolis.
