WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman André Carson released today the following statement regarding the passing of entrepreneur and philanthropist Gene Glick:
"I am deeply saddened by the passing of legendary community leader, businessman and philanthropist Gene Glick. As the owner of Gene B. Glick Co., one of the largest real-estate firms in the country, Gene used his generosity to help the community in many ways. He will be deeply missed.
"Gene's compassion transformed our city beyond description. He used his generosity to create an eye center at the Indiana University School of Medicine and help fund a recreational trail through Indianapolis. Gene used his success to build our community and bring us together. Gene's legacy is seen throughout our community."
"As a member of the greatest generation, Gene served our country with honor in World War II as a decorated combat veteran and was part of the D-Day invasion."
"My thoughts and prayers are with Gene's family and friends as they say goodbye to this extraordinary person. Our city is a better place because he was here and our community's future is brighter because of his work."
