Congressman Carson Announces Changes to Communications Team
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - Congressman André Carson today announced a change to his communications team, naming Jason Tomcsi as his new press secretary. The change will take effect next Monday, April 26.
Tomcsi will manage day-to-day operations of Carson's press and communications office, acting as a spokesperson for the Congressman and the central point of contact for media inquiries.
Tomcsi joins Congressman Carson's staff after working in the communications department for the Indiana Association of REALTORS, where he served as their lead writer and communications strategist. Prior to this, Tomcsi was the press secretary for Jill Long Thompson during her 2008 bid for governor, and he spent three years as the deputy press secretary and intern director for the Indiana Senate Democratic Caucus. He began his career in state government in 2004 working as an Indiana Governor's Fellow for both Governors Joe Kernan and Mitch Daniels.
"Jason's diverse experience in Indiana state government and his work in the private sector with the Indiana Association of REALTORS make him the right person to lead our communications team," Congressman Carson said. "He's a talented guy, a true Hoosier and a committed public servant. We're pleased to have him join our team."
Tomcsi earned a degree in political science from Purdue University in 2004. In 2005, he was awarded the state's highest civilian honor, The Sagamore of the Wabash, from Governor Kernan.
