Congressman Carson Highlights Need for Federal Nondiscrimination Legislation

April 1, 2015

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman André Carson, a member of the Congressional LGBT Equality Caucus, is working to inform his colleagues about the problems with Indiana's SB101 and the need for nondiscrimination protections at the federal level. Today, Congressman Carson and the Caucus sent an email to nearly 200 congressional offices providing sample tweets, Facebook posts and news articles to help Members of Congress who support repealing SB101 and a federal comprehensive nondiscrimination bill.

"Discrimination is always wrong, in Indiana and around the world," said Carson. "The attempt to hide discrimination in religious freedom, a cornerstone of America's founding, is wrong. All people deserve equality under the law and the events of the last week highlight the need for comprehensive federal legislation to provide that for all Hoosiers and all Americans."
