Congressman Carson recognizes Rolls-Royce for its work with the U.S. Air Force

September 5, 2014

INDIANAPOLIS— This morning, Congressman André Carson (IN-07) along with Northrop Grumman Corporation, recognized Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis for its support of the U.S. Air Force Global Hawk Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) program.

The Global Hawk is a high-altitude, long endurance unmanned aircraft that provides intelligence and surveillance capabilities for the U.S. Air Force. Each aircraft is powered by a single Rolls-Royce AE 3007H, an engine manufactured in Indianapolis.

"Hoosier hard work and ingenuity has been key to Global Hawk's success, said Carson. "Each engine is designed, developed, and manufactured right here in Indianapolis, leading to better intelligence for our warfighters."

This is the second year that Rolls-Royce is being recognized with the "Support to Roche Sustainment Excellence Award," for their outstanding performance in the Global Hawk fleet.
