Congressman Carson Statement on the Resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman André Carson (IN-07) released the following statement today after Attorney General Eric Holder announced he will depart the Justice Department once a successor is confirmed:

"I want to express my sincere gratitude to Attorney General Eric Holder for his remarkable tenure leading the Department of Justice. For nearly three decades, Attorney General Holder has dedicated his life and career working toward equal justice for all Americans. His efforts have challenged our country to look at recidivism rates and sentencing reform, the protection of voting rights and the importance of safeguarding civil rights for all Americans. I thank Attorney General Holder for his service, and I wish him and his wife Sharon the very best in the future."
