GROUNDBREAKING SET FOR ST. CLAIR SENIOR APARTMENTS
Construction begins on project that received funding from the Recovery Act
INDIANAPOLIS - Just months after the project was nearly halted due to a longstanding federal lien on the property, the groundbreaking for the new St. Clair Senior Apartments will take place Thursday at 10 a.m.
Congressman André Carson was able to work with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to withdraw its lien in order to clear the way for the project's construction.
The $7.6 million, 33-unit complex is located in the St. Clair Place Neighborhood on Indianapolis' Near Eastside and is part of the Super Bowl Legacy Project. The development will include 3,600 square feet of retail and office space and is being developed by Indy-east Asset Development and Riley Area Development Corporation. The project is scheduled to be completed in Fall 2011.
