Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman André Carson issued the following statement in recognition of Perpetual Technologies, an Indianapolis-based company that is being honored this evening by the Department of Defense for its excellent support of its National Guard and Reserve employees:

"Throughout the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, our brave men and women serving in the National Guard and Reserve and their families have faced prolonged deployments. While serving overseas, many service members fear that they will no longer be able to provide the basic needs of their families without the security of their civilian paychecks and benefits.

"That's why companies like Perpetual Technologies deserve accolades for standing by their employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve, and going above and beyond to support their families, as well.

"I congratulate Perpetual Technologies on being awarded the Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, and I hope this recognition shines a spotlight on the importance of companies remaining committed to those employees serving our nation."

More on today's award announcement:
Perpetual Technologies is one of 15 employers from across the nation being honored with the 2009 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award, the U.S. Government's highest honor given to employers for their outstanding support of their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

Dr. Jill Biden will be the keynote speaker at the event in Washington, D.C. tonight.
