Rep. Carson Honors 100th Running in Congress
WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman André Carson spoke on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in celebration of the upcoming 100th running of the Indianapolis 500.
“I stand here today as a Hoosier that is proud of our state’s long racing heritage,” Carson said. “I ask my colleagues to join me in recognizing all those involved with the race over the last century—from the staff, to the pit crews, to the drivers, and especially to the fans who’ve come out to the track each year.”
In addition, Congressman Carson will introduce a resolution in Congress tomorrow, commemorating the 100th running. This non-binding legislation will ask fellow Members of Congress to join all Hoosiers in celebrating the `Greatest Spectacle in Racing'.
