Washington, DC – Congressman André Carson (IN-07), who secured more than half-a-billion dollars for his congressional district in the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, applauded President Biden's signing of a government funding bill that will send even more taxpayer dollars back to the community. The $1.5-trillion-dollar legislation, signed today by the President, will fund the government until the end of the fiscal year, and includes more than $3.4 million dollars for nine community projects in the 7th Congressional District, listed below.
$1,000,000 to the City of Indianapolis for a Mental Health Diversion Program
$96,000 to the Marion County Prosecutor's Office for Second Chance Workshops
$500,000 for the Global Village Welcome Center
$500,000 to the City of Indianapolis for mental health and substance use treatment services for people in need of permanent supportive housing
$75,000 to the Community Action of Greater Indianapolis Inc. for behavioral health treatment and services, including supportive services
$300,000 to Ivy Tech Community College for a mobile unit to offer training and other services

$100,000 to Eclectic Soul VOICES Corporation for a job training program, including supportive services and stipends
"I'm honored to have secured funding for these important community projects," said Rep. Carson. "These organizations are incredibly deserving of support, and the money they will receive helps to strengthen their efforts to help Hoosiers, create jobs and change lives. These local requests were selected after a very thorough review process to ensure taxpayer dollars will be used efficiently and responsibly. I'm pleased my House and Senate colleagues, as well as President Biden, have faith in these investments that will improve the lives of Hoosiers in the 7th Congressional District. I'll continue working hard to secure more federal funding for critical programs that keep Hoosiers out of poverty and open the doors of opportunity for families, workers, and businesses in our community."
