‘Valentines for Veterans' Enters its 15th Year

INDIANAPOLIS – Staff members from the Office of Congressman André Carson today delivered more than one thousand valentines to local veterans. The valentines were prepared by area school children and were delivered to various locations around the city, including Roudebush VA Medical Center, the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs, and Tindall Armory.

Valentines for Veterans, which began 15 years ago under Congresswoman Julia Carson, allows students the opportunity to express their gratitude to those who have served bravely in our armed forces, especially those who have been wounded during their service.

"For the last 15 years, this event has been a powerful tradition in Indianapolis," said Congressman Carson. "Not only does it provide students a chance to reflect on the courage and sacrifice that define our armed services, it brings joy to those service members who are in the midst of recovery right here in our community."
