Dear Friend,

We are just a few days away from another economically devastating shutdown of the federal government, and I am doing everything in my power to prevent that from happening.

We saw in 2013 how a shutdown can damage our economy and harm hardworking people. We lost $24 billion in economic activity, Americans lost out on 120,000 private sector jobs, seniors weren't able to apply for new Social Security benefits, and the claims backlog for our brave veterans grew by tens of thousands.

Last week, I joined more than 120 of my colleagues in sending a letter to Speaker Boehner, urging him to keep the House in session every day until we reach a solution that prevents a government shutdown.

With so much as stake there is no time to spare, we must get this resolved.

With September 30th, right around the corner, I'll keep fighting for all Hoosiers to prevent the government from shutting down again.

Should you have any questions or concerns, or if my office can be of assistance to you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Your Friend,
Rep. Carson Signature
André

INSIDE SCOOP

Last weekend, my office in conjunction with the Indiana Chapter of American Immigration Lawyers Association, Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic, and Catholic Charities worked to help over 60 people complete their paperwork for US citizenship. I'm grateful my office was able to help these Hoosiers with the immigration process.
