Rep. Carson's Priorities
Fairness, Equity and Equal Rights – Fighting Discrimination
Throughout his public service, Rep. Carson has fought for fairness for all, especially disadvantaged and marginalized groups, helping everyone access equal opportunities.
Reform our justice system: With the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, Rep. Carson has supported stronger accountability measures for police and ending harmful practices like chokeholds and no-knock warrants -- which took the lives of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Eric Garner.
Expand voting rights: Through legislation like the For the People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Restoration Act, Rep. Carson seeks to make voting easier, not harder.
End health disparities: Rep. Carson continues to fight food deserts, end the Black maternal mortality crisis, preserve and expand women's health access, and has advocated for more research for diseases that hit Black and Brown communities harder, such as pancreatic cancer.
Promote civil rights for all: Rep. Carson continues to fight against racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism and systemic inequality.

As a senior member on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Rep. Carson has worked to pass big bills that invest in infrastructure, helps communities thrive and businesses succeed.
- Build traditional infrastructure: Roads, bridges, trains, and ports are the foundation of our country, Rep. Carson's has consistently advocated to prioritize them.

National Security – Keeping Americans Safe
Rep. Carson proudly serves as the first Muslim member of the House Intelligence Committee and Chairs the Counterterrorism Subcommittee.
- Fight against foreign threats: Cyber threats are dangerous to our country, including from adversaries like Russia that deployed misinformation attacks that interfered with our elections and attempted to undermine our democracy.
- Confront domestic threats: For years, Rep. Carson has sounded the alarm about domestic terrorists and white supremacists here at home. Unfortunately, some of those warnings have become real, with attacks in Charlottesville and the January 6th insurrection attempting to overthrow presidential election results.
- Conduct oversight: Under Rep. Carson's leadership, the Intel Committee is doing important oversight work, in classified settings and open sessions to help Americans better understand security threats and what our government is doing to address them.
