WASHINGTON, DC—On June 11, Congressman Andre Carson (IN-07) and Congressman Mike Levin (CA-49) introduced H.R. 3906, the Medical Research for Our Troops Act, which restores full funding to the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP).
Amid the negotiation of a new ceasefire deal, it is reported that the death toll in Gaza has surpassed 54,000 people, while the entire 2.1 million population of Gaza faces prolonged food shortages due to Israeli military blockades. Nearly half a million people are facing a possible famine, acute malnutrition, starvation, illness, and death.

WASHINGTON, DC— Today, Congressman André Carson (IN-07) offered an amendment to protect Amtrak funding during today’s Transportation and Infrastructure Committee reconciliation bill markup.
The Carson amendment would have protected funding for the Amtrak National Network by prohibiting the Secretary of Transportation from rescinding its grant funding or from adding any new terms or conditions beyond what Congress has already directed. The amendment did not pass.
