Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman André Carson (IN-07), Ranking Member of the House Economic Development Subcommittee, Senator Joe Donnelly and Mayor Joe Hogsett, joined the U.S. Commerce Department’s Economic Development Agency (EDA) in announcing a generous grant to Indianapolis. This $355,000 grant will be used to better support the city’s regional economic initiatives and fully develop the opportunities available through Indy’s federal ‘Promise Zone’ designation.

Mr. Carson: Mr. Speaker, I yield myself such time as I may consume.

I support this bill, as amended, which directs the General Services Administration (GSA) to install baby changing stations in restrooms in public buildings across the Nation. I’d also like to commend my colleague, the gentleman from Rhode Island (Mr. Cicilline), for his leadership on this issue, and for his willingness to work with me to bring this bill to the Floor today.

Washington, DC - Today, Rep. Carson voted to approve the publication of a newly declassified section of the 2002 Joint Congressional Inquiry into Intelligence Community activities before and After the Terrorist Attacks of September 11, 2001. Since the report was made public, the American people have been looking for the release of these 28 pages to better understand how and why this tragedy occurred.

“It is my hope that as the victims’ families cope with their terrible losses, communities across America will honor Alton Sterling and Philando Castile by ensuring all individuals are protected equally under the law.

Andre Carson is today demanding that Speaker Ryan not recess the House without allowing a vote on gun violence prevention legislation to keep the American people safe.
