Congressman André Carson Honors Fallen Officer in the U.S. House of Representatives
WASHINGTON D.C. – Congressman André Carson (IN-07) made a statement for the Congressional Record honoring the life of fallen Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Perry Renn.
The statement will now be held in the permanent Congressional Record in Washington, D.C. A copy of the statement also was delivered to Renn's family.

Washington D.C. - Congressman André Carson issued the following statement today regarding reports that the United States monitored several prominent Muslim Americans:
INDIANAPOLIS – Congressman André Carson released the following statement this morning in response to the news that IMPD veteran patrol officer Perry Renn was killed last night in a shootout on the city's Eastside.
"My heart goes out to the family and friends of Officer Renn. Our city lost a brave law enforcement officer last night, and we grieve with those he leaves behind.
WASHINGTON – Today, Congressman André Carson introduced the Emerging Business Encouragement (EBE) Act, which will help emerging businesses compete for federal contracts and obtain access to federally backed loans as they get off the ground.
Emerging businesses face obstacles that are distinctly different from more well established small businesses. Under the EBE Act, the Small Business Administration (SBA) would create a new designation for an Emerging Business Enterprises (EBE) based on the company's age, size and total compensation.

Summer Servings, which is available in Marion County as part of the USDA Summer Food Service Program, provides nutritious meals and snacks to children during the summer months. Meals are provided at no cost to all children ages 18 and younger.
The program is designed to fill the nutrition gap during the summer to ensure that children get the meals they need when school is not in session.
