WASHINGTON -- Congressman André Carson issued the following statement today regarding the kidnapping of girls and young women in Nigeria:
"As a Muslim and the father of a young girl, I strongly condemn the actions of this group and support American efforts to locate and rescue these young women. I would also ask our partners in the international community to be vigilant and work together to find the missing girls and return them to their families. These horrific actions cannot stand, and we join our hearts in prayer for these young women."

Dear Friend,
Happy Cinco de Mayo!

INDIANAPOLIS – Congressman André Carson, D-Indianapolis, issued the following statement today congratulating the Children's Museum of Indianapolis for receiving 2014 National Medal for Museum and Library Service:
Dear Friend,
It was an honor this week to deliver opening remarks at an active shooter emergency response drill at the Major General Emmett J. Bean Federal Center in Indianapolis, the third largest military facility in the United States. The exercise involved more than 30 local, state and federal agencies and was the first of its kind in the nation. It will become a model for other federal facilities in the country to respond to a potential active shooter or terrorist threat.
