Washington, DC - Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed Congressman André Carson's Kennedy-King Establishment Act (H.R. 4851). This bill designates Martin Luther King Park in Indianapolis as a National Commemorative Site, and adds it to the new National Civil Rights Network, preserving it for generations to come. The bill passed the House by a vote of 391 to 0 and now moves to the Senate for consideration.

Currently, almost 7,000 rare diseases affect nearly one in 10 Americans nationwide, over half of whom are children. Unfortunately, many rare diseases and conditions, which affect small patient populations fewer than 200,000, are serious, life-threatening, or lack an effective treatment.

Washington, D.C. – Tomorrow, the U.S. House of Representative's Natural Resources Committee will hold a hearing on H.R. 4851, the Kennedy- King Establishment Act, legislation that would establish MLK Park in Indianapolis as a National Historic Site within the National Park Service.
