"On Veterans Day, we honor veterans of all eras, our service members, and our military families for their service and sacrifices defending our great nation.
"Our country is home to over 20 million veterans, including over 400,000 living in Indiana. These men and women have courageously served and protected our freedom at home and abroad.
WASHINGTON, DC - Historically, funding for public health priorities such as the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) has had strong bipartisan support. Unfortunately, today Republicans forced a vote on a partisan bill that would provide healthcare for some at the expense of others, undermining these programs, cutting other essential health programs, and weakening coverage for too many Americans.

Washington, DC - Congressman André Carson (IN-07) released the following statement today on the shooting in Las Vegas:
"I join Americans and the world in mourning the victims of last night's shooting in Las Vegas. While I pray for their families during this incredibly difficult time, they deserve more than our ‘thoughts and prayers.' They, like all Americans, deserve to live in a country that values their lives enough to take decisive action to stop gun violence.
Washington, DC - Yesterday, the House approved a package of eight spending bills, covering non-defense spending for FY18.
Included in the bill was an amendment offered by Congressman Carson to restore funding to afterschool programs, which President Trump proposed eliminating.
