Unfortunately, today Republicans forced a vote on a partisan bill that would provide healthcare for some at the expense of others, undermining these programs, cutting other essential health programs, and weakening coverage for too many Americans.

Included in the bill was an amendment offered by Congressman Carson to restore funding to afterschool programs, which President Trump proposed eliminating.

Included in the bill was a provision authored by Congressman Carson which makes permanent the requirement for the DOD to provide mental health assessments to deployed service members.
