Washington, DC - Today, Congressman André Carson (IN-07), announced $4.3 million in new federal grants that will support AmeriCorps members serving throughout Indiana. The grants are administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), the federal agency that oversees AmeriCorps.

WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman André Carson spoke on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives in celebration of the upcoming 100th running of the Indianapolis 500.

“I stand here today as a Hoosier that is proud of our state’s long racing heritage,” Carson said. “I ask my colleagues to join me in recognizing all those involved with the race over the last century—from the staff, to the pit crews, to the drivers, and especially to the fans who’ve come out to the track each year.”

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the House of Representatives approved a bill introduced by Rep. André Carson (IN-07) to name the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Headquarters in Washington as the Ariel Rios Federal Building. The bill overwhelmingly passed by a vote of 401-0.

ATF agent Rios, 28, was murdered by drug traffickers in 1982. He was the first ATF agent killed by hostile action.

WASHINGTON, DC - This week, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee unanimously approved abill introduced by Rep. André Carson (IN-07) to name the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Headquarters in Washington as the Ariel Rios Federal Building.

INDIANAPOLIS - Congressman André Carson (IN-07) will hold a press conference tomorrow, Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Edna Martin Christian Center in Indianapolis to announce new legislation he introduced in Congress to provide assistance to the millions of Americans currently living in a food desert.

Today, over 29 million people, almost 10 percent of the U.S. population, live without ready access to affordable, nutritious food, including thousands of Hoosiers. In 2014, a report named Indianapolis the worst in the country for food deserts.
