With appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) set to expire at the end of this month, we write to strongly urge you to bring a clean bill to the House floor that fully funds DHS for the remainder of the current fiscal year, like H.R. 861 introduced by Congresswoman Roybal-Allard and Congresswoman Lowey.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - This week, Congressman André Carson (IN-07) was named to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence by the Democratic Leader of the House, Nancy Pelosi. This select committee is charged with oversight of the United States Intelligence Community, which includes the intelligence and intelligence-related activities of the Central Intelligence Agency, National Security Agency, and more than a dozen other elements of the US Government, as well as the Military Intelligence Program. Carson is the first Muslim to sit on the committee.

INDINANAPOLIS – Today, Congressman André Carson announced the names of the 10 young men and women from Indiana's 7th Congressional District who have been selected as nominees to the United States Services Academies. Their names have been submitted for consideration as members for the academy classes entering in July 2015.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2015, which included provisions authored by Congressman Carson to protect the mental health of deployed service members. The NDAA containing Congressman Carson's provisions is expected to pass the Senate next week before making its way to the President's desk to become law.
