Carson Statement on Super Bowl Housing Legacy Project
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman André Carson issued the following statement on today's event highlighting the 32 residences that will become homes for homeless families as part of the 2012 Super Bowl Housing Legacy Project on Indianapolis' near eastside.
Nearly $3 million for the project came from the $29 million in Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) funds that Congressman Carson secured for the City of Indianapolis in 2008.

Carson Statement on Funding to Protect Teaching Jobs
INDIANAPOLIS - Today, Congressman André Carson released the following statement upon news that Indiana will be receiving $207 million to protect teaching jobs across the state. The funds are being allocated as a part of the Education Jobs and Medicaid Assistance Act, which Congressman Carson voted to pass in early August.

INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis will receive $8 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to bolster local efforts to clean up and redevelop abandoned properties, Congressman André Carson announced today.
INDIANAPOLIS - Recognizing the need for young people to have an understanding of financial basics during a tough economy, Congressman André Carson will lead a community discussion on financial literacy today at Arsenal Tech High School. As part of the event he will visit with students who have participated in the financial literacy program at the high school.

INDIANAPOLIS - Looking to bring awareness to the issue of hunger in our community, Congressman André Carson will join Senator Richard Lugar and other community leaders Wednesday to help kick off Hunger Awareness Month.
INDIANAPOLIS - More than 90 employers-representing over 2,500 available jobs-will be in attendance at Wednesday's Central Indiana Job Fair hosted by Congressman André Carson in cooperation with Ivy Tech Community College.
Congressman Carson will be conducting a media availability to discuss the event at 11:30 a.m. on the 4th floor of IUPUI's Campus Center. He will be joined Dr. Kathleen Lee, Interim Chancellor of Ivy Tech.
