INDIANAPOLIS- Congressman André Carson today issued the following statement praising President Obama for establishing a bipartisan commission on fiscal responsibility:
"People across this nation have always been forced to make tough choices when it comes to their family or personal budgets. All the while Washington has seen massive deficits grow as difficult decisions are put off year-after-year.
INDIANAPOLIS - Congressman André Carson, Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard and Central Indiana Community Foundation President Brian Payne today announced The Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick has been awarded $20.5 million from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The federal grant is part of the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) program funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman André Carson issued the following statement in response to reports showing that the national unemployment rate has dropped below 10 percent. According to January unemployment numbers, the jobless rate stands at 9.7 percent-the lowest Americans have seen since August 2009.
