CARSON TO BE SWORN IN AS 112TH CONGRESS BEGINS

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman André Carson will take the oath of office on the floor of the House of Representatives Wednesday afternoon. Later in the day Congressman Carson will participate in an individual ceremonial swearing-in with Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH).

CARSON VOTES TO APPROVE DREAM ACT

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman André Carson today voted to approve the DREAM Act, which will create a pathway to citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants.

This bipartisan legislation puts forward a decade-long process for a limited group of young people who were brought to the United States as children and have grown up in the country.

GROUNDBREAKING SET FOR ST. CLAIR SENIOR APARTMENTS

Construction begins on project that received funding from the Recovery Act

INDIANAPOLIS - Just months after the project was nearly halted due to a longstanding federal lien on the property, the groundbreaking for the new St. Clair Senior Apartments will take place Thursday at 10 a.m.

Congressman André Carson was able to work with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to withdraw its lien in order to clear the way for the project's construction.

CARSON VOTES TO PERMANENTLY EXTEND TAX CUTS FOR MIDDLE-CLASS

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman André Carson issued the following statement regarding today's vote in the House of Representatives to extend tax cuts for income under $250,000. The bill now moves to the Senate for consideration.
