WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Congressman André Carson (IN-07) announced that he successfully secured federal funding for 14 community projects in Indianapolis. In total, these organizations will receive $10.3 million to fund youth services, affordable housing, public safety, infrastructure, and more.

CHICAGO (Feb. 20, 2024) – Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced more than $113 million from President Biden’s Investing in America agenda for Indiana drinking water and clean water infrastructure upgrades. The funding is part of the more than $50 billion investment in water infrastructure upgrades from President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – the largest such investment in American history.

My progressive colleagues and I made student debt cancellation a priority. We have collaborated with activists and borrowers, pushing for executive action to cancel student debt. I cheered when President Biden announced his plan to cancel up to $20k in student loan debt for 43 million people and after the Supreme Court struck it down, was quick to call for the President to use all other powers he has to get Indianapolis residents the relief they so desperately need.
