This past weekend, millions of people attended No Kings rallies around the country – a peaceful movement united in the belief that America belongs to its people, not to kings. Aggressive censorship and attacks on free speech are unconstitutional, and massive peaceful protests are one of the most effective ways you can make your voice heard. 

The government is shut down because conservatives in Washington have refused to extend critical health care tax credits that have saved Americans thousands of dollars. 

We are almost a week into Republicans’ government shutdown.

Republicans have control of the House, the Senate, and the White House – but they are still trying to act like a shutdown isn’t their fault.

Democrats have one request: don’t slash healthcare for 22 million Americans. 

Redistricting Update: 

This week, I joined my Congressional Black Caucus colleagues to sound the alarm on mid-decade redistricting.

This month marks 90 years of Social Security – 90 years of America keeping its promise to deliver Americans the benefits they’ve earned. Democrats created this program and today, we continue to protect it – especially as the Trump administration tries to cut and open the door to privatizing this essential program.
