WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman André Carson released the following statement today about the Indiana Department of Workforce Development's announcement that the state of Indiana gained 22,700 jobs in April.
"Combine Indiana's largest over-the-month increase in employment since 1999 with national numbers released earlier in the month, and it becomes clear the significant impact the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act is having on our state and nation.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman André Carson released the following statement on the Senate's passage of financial regulatory reform last night:
"Two years ago our economy was brought to the brink of collapse because of misguided and destructive practices from the financial industry. Last year I joined my colleagues on the Financial Services Committee to craft a comprehensive set of measures that will protect our economy and better secure American's hard-earned retirement accounts by modernizing our financial regulations and holding Wall Street accountable.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - An amendment authored by Congressman André Carson was included in legislation to spur small-business lending. The bill, which was approved by the House Financial Services Committee, will create a Small Business Lending Fund to be administered by the Secretary of the Treasury.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today's actuarial report on the alleged fiscal impact of the new health care reform law, which was commissioned by Governor Mitch Daniels' Administration, is yet another attempt by the Governor to politically assail health reform, said Congressmen André Carson and Baron Hill.
Congressmen Carson and Hill are again imploring the Governor to provide Hoosiers with factual, apolitical information on the new law.
